Growing Daisies At Home
Whether you are a keen gardener or just starting out, you want plants and flowers that are easy to grow. Daisies are ideal for this as they are so simple to grow, and easy to maintain. You will find that daisies tend to just grow on their own and will do well no matter where you plant them. They look fantastic in a mixed flower bed or on their own, however you choose to grow them they will look great.
We all want to have fantastic looking gardens, and it is great to look out on to a well maintained, fantastic looking flowerbed. If you are new at gardening then you need to choose flowers that will not only look great but are also very easy to grow. Once you have mastered the easier flowers then you can go onto the harder ones. Daises are one of the least expensive flowers to buy, this is why you often see them in bunches of flowers. Flower growers love them since they're so easy to grow, and because they are so pretty. You can either grow them from seed or if you want to buy larger ones and simply re-pot them, then your local garden centre will have them.
Daisies will multiply every year after you have planted them, so you shouldn't have to ever buy them again. Although this is great, if you don't control the daises then they can over run your garden. At some point you will need to begin to remove the seedlings and either plant them elsewhere, or give them to friends. This type of flower grows best in well fertilized soil, with good drainage and in direct sunlight. These flowers are so hardy they can grow in poorer conditions and even in the shade. Daises don't tend to suffer from insect and disease problems, and take very little care or treatment. They look great all year round and are fantastic to use as a border in your flower bed.
As long as you fully understand daises and how fast they grow then you will be able to grow them easily, and continue to do so for years to come. By separating the daisies and not allowing them to take over you will be able to grow bigger flowers. If allowed to restrict the other flowers then they take all of the nutrients, meaning that your daises will be smaller. Also the other flowers will suffer, and maybe even die. Most daisies are the white colored Shasta daisy, and African daisies are the ones you see the most. They are bright in color and look great in any garden, whether it be in beds or pots. Kids love growing daisies as they are so easy to grow and will see result from their planting very soon. Once they have begun to grow then your children only have to water them and watch them continue to flourish.
Wherever you choose to plant your daises they will look great, as long as you keep them under control then you will have years of amazing looking flowers. Once you have spent some time understanding flowers then your garden will look fantastic, you will want to expand it and build more beds and planters.
